At first it looked like this, which for me it was also beautiful and easy to use.. because i already had downloaded plenty of themes so.. even if i wanted to let somebody else (windows7 user) to use it.. i could just change the pixels size of the panel and with the DockbarX applet that changes the buttons on the panel from icon-text to icon only + quicklaunch so it would look more windows7 like and easy for windows user to use it.
Later when i started looking out for docks i changed it by adding cairo-dock and made it look something like this in tribute to mac desktop design which i really like ;-) When some windows-user friends took a look at it they really loved it and got impressed when they saw the preview of the window that i am having just by hovering the mouse on the button because they all thought it was windows vista-7 breakthrough, boy they were wrong..
Later when found out about GnomeDo and it's son.. the Docky .. which i choosed as a basic down panel.. and added Google sidebar & gadgets to see if it was pretty or not.. and finally decided to keep only these two screenlets at the buttom right corner, i made my desktop like this..
And now, finally after i figured that my desktop was a li
ttle too heavy for the eye to see with that google
sidebar gadget.. i added some ring screenlet indicators and i put them all together to form the ubuntu logo! (pretty smart huh?!) Each ring is a different screenlet which shows
cpu % ram % and occupied space on / with a large ring-clock in the middle. This is today's final stage of my desktop ;-) for any changes i will let u know :P (a little too proud huh? settle me down :P)
