# Relaunch: Why this blog is back (and what you’ll find here)
**Last updated:** 10/02/2026
After years of silence, *themanonlife* is back. Not to add more noise to the internet, but to become a practical, reusable knowledge base: things that actually work, written clearly, without hype.
I’m Dimitris, and I’ve been using **Ubuntu (and Linux in general) for over 20 years**. I’ve relied on Linux for everything—from daily computing to troubleshooting networks, servers, VPNs, and building workflows that save time and avoid unnecessary headaches.
Today is a simple announcement: the blog is relaunching. We’ll go deeper later (customization, workflows, automation, privacy, hardening), but for now, this first post is the “reset button” and the start of a new chapter.

## What you’ll find here (the roadmap)
This blog will focus on three pillars:
### 1) Ubuntu & Linux: practical how-to
Clear guides for real-life problems:
- fixing common issues without breaking your system
- performance and stability tips
- useful terminal workflows
- backups and “don’t lose your data” habits
### 2) Networking, VPN, and security basics (especially for small setups)
Practical networking that keeps you safe and productive:
- home and small-office network setups
- VPN concepts explained simply
- common security mistakes and how to avoid them
- tools and checks you can actually apply
### 3) AI tools & productivity (no hype)
How to use modern AI tools in a way that saves time:
- practical workflows for daily work
- content creation without burnout
- automation ideas that don’t turn into chaos
---
## What this blog is **not**
- Not a place for “miracle” solutions and clickbait.
- Not copy-paste content.
- Not theory with no implementation.
If something is recommended here, it will be because it was tested in the real world and it worked.

## What’s next (immediate plan)
To make this relaunch real (not just words), here’s what’s coming next:
1) **My baseline Ubuntu setup (2026 edition)**
The essentials I install and configure first—clean, stable, and fast.
2) **OpenVPN on a VPS: a practical checklist**
The simple setup and the common mistakes that cause leaks or downtime.
3) **Privacy & browser hardening on Linux**
What matters, what doesn’t, and what breaks your experience.

## Follow along
If you want to follow the relaunch:

- check back weekly (I’ll keep the pace realistic)
- and if you have a topic request, leave a comment or message me
Thanks for being here at the start of the new run.
